So what's up with MX Adrenaline?
A little background: MX Adrenaline was an upcoming MX game I was working on alongside SMX Supermoto Vs Motocross. But due to the amount of work and hassle involved in developing two MX games at the same time, I eventually abandoned the project.
MX Adrenaline was originally planned as a PC-only game, optimized to take full advantage of PC hardware. The goal was great visuals, large maps, dense vegetation, high-resolution assets, and advanced lighting. It had been split from SMX and became its own separate game.
I put a lot of work into MX Adrenaline, just like I did with SMX. As time passed, the two projects became very different from each other, and it became increasingly difficult to move features from one game to the other. Eventually, I decided to stop development on MX Adrenaline.
A few months ago, however, I started reworking the idea of MX Adrenaline, but this time with a different goal in mind: bringing all the cool stuff from both games into a single cross-platform title.
This means improved physics, dual-stick controls, free in-air bike control, better motorcycle models, a more detailed rider model with separate pants, jerseys, boots, and other gear, while dropping things like huge maps and advanced lighting so the game can run well on both mobile and PC.
Because of this, MX Adrenaline will either become a major upcoming update for SMX or a sequel (we'll see, but most likely an update), along with a PC release. This removes the hassle of maintaining two separate projects while finally bringing SMX to the computer.
There's still quite a lot of work to be done, but now that the game is being designed from the ground up to work on both mobile and PC, I can focus on a single project. This means I can continue updating the mobile version without constantly delaying the PC release.
You may notice fewer SMX updates than before, but you can keep your mind at ease because the project has not been abandoned.
When MX Adrenaline eventually comes to PC, it will include all the features from SMX. There's also a chance that a limited PC demo may release first, but don't worry, the game is essentially SMX at its core, so nothing is being lost in the transition.
Please keep in mind that anything posted on social media regarding MX Adrenaline, especially on the @SMXAdrenaline Instagram page, is development content. This means features may be cut before release, visuals may change, and things may look different as development continues due to optimization and other technical reasons.
Official release announcements and finalized content will only be posted on the @SMXGAME Instagram page.
